5 Stars Technically I am not finished And not sure I ever will Why? Because the essays reviewing 100 great thrillers are so well written and so enticing that I'm going to make an effort to work through as many as possible of the recommended titles And every time before I start one I will surely read its review by one of these great authors Speaking for myself I can occasionally see some books in our favourite category mysteries and thrillers as straight forward who dun it? or How can our hero resolve this terrible situation? The plot is complicated but there's a resolution at the end tying it all up The reviewers demonstrate the intriguing nuances of the 100 Let's take Christie's And Then There Were None reviewed by David Morrell He calls it a novel of sensation and takes us back to Wilkie Collins' 1868 The Moonstone to demonstrate its antecedents and also references an earlier true case from 1860 Many of the reviewers are names we have heard of and admire and each of them might add something to your next read As I put together my Basic Mystery and Thriller Compilation this book was helpful April 2020
